It was pomp and pageantry at the official presentation of Mazi Chukwuemeka Aguocha Ukenye as the new Eze-elect of Uha-la-uda. In his presentation speech, the President-General
of Uha-la-uda, Mr. Nwachukwu Udochukwu Chikezie, eulogized the newly elected king of the community. In his speech, Mr. Chikezie said that "Mazi Chukwuemeka Aguocha Ukenye is an illustrious (and) full blooded son of Uha-laUda Nnono Oboro Autonomous Community. "All sons and daughters here present can testify his rich parental
background in Uha-la-Uda Nnono Oboro. He is highly respected and responsible with great knowledge of our rich Culture and Traditions. "He has great passion for capacity building of the Men, women, youths for the development of Uha-la-Uda Nnono Oboro Kingdom, having participated actively in so many Developmental Projects in Uha-la-Uda Nnono Oboro Kingdom. He went further to say that the generally accepted Eze-elect "is well educated and highly experienced technocrat who stand tall amongst his peers in the society to represent the people of Uha-la-Uda Nnono Oboro as the Traditional Ruler. Prior to the presentation of the Eze-elect at the Secretariat of Ikwuano Local Government Council on Thursday, April 4, 2024 as the rules demands, it could be realised that the position was keenly contested. According to the information reaching this media, the community which lost their last Royal Highness, Eze Jiaza
had the need for a replacement after the statutory period of mourning. When this opportunity therefore came calling, four illustrous sons of the community indicated interest to contest the vacant stool. At a well organised contest at the community where the followings indicated interest, the vote went as follows, High Chief J N Nwanmuo had 4 votes, Chief Ndimele Nwaokocha had 13 votes, Chief Kenneth Ubuchi had 118 votes while Mazi Chukwuemeka Aguocha Ukenye scored 306 votes emerging the winner with only 6 votes as void. The massive support for the new Eze-elect was also demonstrated at Isiala Oboro headquarters of the Local Government Area during his presentation to the Mayor of the LGA, Chief Nwaka by the massive turn out of the community. At the presentation ceremony which is a qualified success, had other notable personalities in attendance among whom are the newly coronated Eze Oraigwe, HRH Eze Ezeoma and the members of the executive council of the LGA.
