PRAISE GALORE AS KLT DECORATES NEWLY PROMOTED OFFICERS

The period is definitely celebration among Customs officer, more especially the newly promoted. At Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Command KLT, decorations like many of the commands at the Western zone took place on Wednesday, September 17, 2025 at the command's headquarter. In her short but inventory speech, the delectable Customs Area Controller of the Kirikiri Lighter Terminal Command, Comptroller Eghosa Joy Edelduok, thanked God witnessing another promotion and decoration exercise in her command within a relatively short period "back to back." She attributed this to the kind and good gesture of the Comptroller General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi MFR who is according to her "the number one Customs officer in the world today." She advised the newly promoted that the promotion is an opportinity to access more potentials in them. She reminded them to see this new administration of the CGC as a means to grow in their profession. She remembered that, there was a period in the service where officers were stagnated to a particular rank for more than eight years. On the visiting family members, friends and well wisher, the amiable Customs Area Controller advised them to be an encouragement to these officers. To allow them carry out their duties without interference. After the decoration of these officers in the categories of Chief Superintendents to Inspectors, the management team which comprises of the old and newly promoted Deputy Comptrollers, words of advice were given by each and every one of them. The event witnessed the presence of Comptroller Umar who was promoted to a Comptroller of Customs from the command, the Divisional Police Officer of the Area, CSP Afeez who was discribed as a friend of the command was also present. Others are the stakeholders of the command, friends, well wishers and family members of the promoted. Finally, CSC Okocha, one of the newly promoted gave the vote of thanks with an emotion filled speech. Resounding like many of the former speeches by members of the management team, CSC Okocha said their Customs Area Controller is a "real mummy." He narrated on how their needs in the command is the primary worries of the CAC. That when the results of their promotion was been announced, she was noticed celebrating them on each ocassion the news came by. He finally enjoined others to be diligent and not to be a disappointment to their "mummy and the CGC." The event was well coordinated and anchored by the Public Relations Officer of the Command, VU Ogagbor, a Chief Superintendent of Customs and his assistant who also was decorated as an Assistant Superintendent.
